What do you really need once you are bringing baby home?

The first baby checklist was part of your hospital bag, and you needed to bring your own baby outfit for bringing your newborn baby home.

Here is our quick newborn checklist broken down into 4 quick 'needs lists' to help you feel prepared bringing baby home.

Clothing: Natural Fabrics
  • 4 sleepers
  • 3 onesies(body suits)
  • 4 pairs socks
  • scratch mittens
  • 2 outfits
  • warm hat & snowsuit(winter)
  • light summer outfit & hat(summer)
  • 2 bibs
Sleeping:
  • cradle, bassinet or crib
  • mattress & waterproof mattress pads
  • 4 cotton sheets
  • 2 soft lightweight blankets
  • baby monitor
  • portable bed (for travels)
Equipment:
  • 1 dresser
  • 1 shelving Unit
  • 1 secure changing table(padded)
  • diaper bag or changing backpack
  • infant car seat(traveling)

  • bath semi-sitting chair or foam tub mat
Other Basics:
  • 3 packages newborn diapers
  • 3 multi-packs baby wipes
  • 2 tubes 'bum rash' cream
  • bag cotton balls
  • liquid baby soap & shampoo
  • lotion or baby oil for dry skin
  • sponge & 3 wash cloths
  • baby brush
  • baby rounded nail cutting scissors

There are countless other things that you could also buy, but this newborn checklist highlights all the items you will need to get started to comfortably care for your new responsibility and bundle of precious joy. Take a close look at what would work best for you and your family and how different baby items even furniture items would fit in your home. If you have your new 'baby room' in the set-up phase, keep it simple and spacious.
