Great Reeces Pieces Cookie Cake
Mine was Declicious!

For my fortieth birthday celebration I had a delicious cookie cake.

My birthday cake was fun to eat with my whole family and not surprising it did not last very long. This cookie recipe is easy and fast to make and bake. Mine was topped with reeces pieces, but you can add smarties, Oreo pieces or m&m candies to change it up. This is a basic recipe to make a big cookie, but it tasted awfully good--so good I found myself wanting another one. Have fun with it and form the full plate cookie into any shape you want to make.

A homemade cake from scratch that will take you under half an hour to have completely made. Try a birthday cookie cake for your next celebration cake, they will love it.

Here are the quick & easy steps to enjoy making your big cookie.

Recipe Step #1: The 'Dry' Ingredients
'Dry' Ingredients List
- 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup (vollkorn)whole-wheat flour
- 1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Combine all 'dry' ingredients and stir together in a large mixing bowl and set it aside. Preheat oven to 190 C(375 F)

Recipe Step #2: The 'Wet' Ingredients
'Wet' Ingredients List
- 3/4 cup butter softened
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup reeces pieces
Combining 'wet' & 'dry'
  1. Add the 'wet' ingredients to the 'dry'
  2. Mix until all ingredients are blended
  3. Stir in reeces pieces

Recipe Step #3: Making The Cookie
'Shape It & Bake It'
  1. Outline aluminum cookie shape on the whole cookie sheet
  2. Fill in with cookie dough
  3. Bake until edges are slightly browned
  4. Remove & cool cookie for 5 minutes on cookie sheet
  5. Transfer to wire cooling rack
  6. Transfer directly to presentation plate

A big cookie like this with a thickness up to 2 cm should be cooked through in 10-15 minutes once the edges have browned. The middle might require a couple extra minutes--check with a sharp knife coming out clean from the center. Add decorations, birthday candles and iced writing to this special big birthday cookie.

Try variations to reeces pieces like m&m chocolates, Oreo cookie pieces, chunks of chocolate, Smarties or Peanut Butter Chips and have fun making this big cookie, eating it piece by piece and enjoy the rest of your celebration.
